Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about roof restorations, replacements, repairs and everything in between on the Central Coast.
Is roof restoration better than roof replacement?
It depends on the condition of your roof. If the structure and most tiles or sheets are sound, a restoration costs a fraction of a replacement and can add 15+ years of life. If there's widespread rust, structural damage or your roof is at the end of its lifespan, a replacement is the smarter long-term investment. We inspect first and give you an honest recommendation — restoration where possible, replacement only when necessary.
How much does roof restoration cost on the Central Coast?
Most Central Coast roof restorations fall in the $4,500–$9,500 range depending on roof size, pitch and condition. Full roof replacements typically range from $18,000–$45,000+ depending on materials and size. Every roof is different, so we provide a free inspection and a fixed written quote before any work begins.
How do I know if I need a roof replacement?
The clear triggers are: persistent leaks that keep coming back, sagging or structural movement, widespread rust on metal roofs, large numbers of cracked or porous tiles, or a roof that's 40+ years old. If you're seeing any of these, book a free inspection — we'll tell you straight whether it can be restored or needs replacing.
How long does the work take?
A typical roof restoration takes 2–4 days, weather permitting. A full roof replacement usually takes 3–7 days including removal and disposal of the old roof. We confirm the timeframe in your quote and keep you updated throughout.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — our premium Industrial Roof Coatings 4-coat system carries an industry-leading 15-year warranty* when applied by accredited applicators like us (*conditions apply, see our terms). That's among the strongest protection offered by any roofing company on the Central Coast.
What types of roofs do you work on?
We work on all common Australian roof types: concrete tile, terracotta tile, Colorbond and other metal roofing, and tile-to-metal conversions. Whether it's restoration, repairs, painting, cleaning or full replacement, we cover the entire Central Coast region.
Do I need council approval to replace my roof?
Like-for-like replacements are generally exempt development in NSW. Changing materials (e.g. tile to metal) is usually still exempt for most homes, but heritage areas and some zones have rules — we confirm what applies to your property as part of the quote.
Can you work around solar panels?
Yes — we coordinate panel removal and reinstallation with accredited solar installers when a roof needs work underneath, and we'll factor it into the quote so there are no surprises.
Is a roof restoration safe for my drinking-water tanks?
Yes, when done properly — we use potable-water-safe coating systems and manage first-flush diversion after the job. Tell us you're on tank water and we'll specify accordingly.
What happens if it rains during my roof job?
Your home stays weatherproof — we never open more roof than we can close, and coatings are scheduled around weather windows. Rain may shift the timeline a day or two; it never risks your home.
Do you give fixed quotes or estimates?
Fixed written quotes, after a real inspection. The price we quote is the price you pay unless you change the scope.
Are you licensed and insured?
Fully — NSW Licence #203374C, with public liability insurance. We're happy to show certificates with any quote.
How soon can you start?
Urgent leak repairs are prioritised — usually within days. Restorations and replacements are typically scheduled within a few weeks depending on season and weather.
Do you handle insurance claims for storm damage?
We provide detailed photo reports and quotes in the format insurers need, and we're experienced working alongside assessors after major weather events.
